A. Duie Pyle (Pyle), a 101-year-old, family-owned and operated provider of asset and non-asset-based supply chain solutions announced this week the purchase of a 35.5-acre property in a Pennsylvania Keystone Opportunity Zone. The property is strategically located within the Martin J. Marasco Business Park in Claysburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania, owned by the Altoona Blair County Development (ABCD) Corp. The site makes way for the construction of a new service center and fleet maintenance facility, aligning with the company’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its logistics capabilities and meeting growing customer demands and expectations.
“The collaboration between ABCD Corp., A. Duie Pyle, Pennsylvania’s Office of Transformation and Greenfield Township is a clear example of how strategic partnerships drive investment and job creation in the Commonwealth and here in Blair County,” said Matt Fox, VP Business Expansion & Retention, ABCD Corp. “This land sale is more than just a transaction, it is a sign of continued confidence in Blair County’s location, workforce and opportunities for growth.”
Its optimal positioning next to Interstate 99 provides enhanced access to the Pennsylvania Turnpike, Interstate 80 and U.S. Routes 22 and 30. It will serve as the site for a new, state-of-the-art, expandable 40-door cross-dock facility and attached fleet maintenance shop with three drive-thru bays and an automatic truck wash. This building will replace an existing facility that Pyle has outgrown and enable the company to provide essential on-site maintenance services to accommodate equipment repairs.
“This expansion is about more than just increasing capacity – it’s about ensuring that we remain agile and responsive to our customers’ evolving needs,” said John Luciani, COO of LTL Solutions at A. Duie Pyle. “By investing in a modern facility in our core geographic region, we are positioning Pyle to continue delivering the exceptional service our customers expect while preparing for future growth and opportunities.”
Site work is scheduled to begin in Q3 2025, with completion and operational launch expected in Q3 2026. Upon opening, all existing positions will be retained, and new jobs will be created for fleet technicians to staff the adjoining maintenance facility. As operations grow, the expanded facility will continue to enable business growth and additional local employment opportunities.
This property purchase highlights Pyle’s dedication to strategic growth and long-term investments in its infrastructure. In line with Pyle’s long-standing commitment to sustainability, the facility will incorporate various green technologies, including energy-efficient lighting and equipment, to reduce its environmental footprint. This investment not only strengthens Pyle’s logistics network, but also reinforces its commitment to being a responsible, long-term partner in the Central Pennsylvania area — creating jobs, supporting local infrastructure and contributing to the region’s economic vitality.
